FEBRUARY WBLDEMS MEETING. TUESDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2018. NOTE: Change of day. refreshments 6:45. meeting begins at 7:00. The meeting will be at the West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Building Room #102, 4640 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield.

Speakers will be: Dr. Abdul El-Sayeed, candidate for Gov. of Michigan, and Mona DeQuis; regional political organizer at Michigan Democratic Party.

Speakers will be: Melissa Keck; a registered nurse working with Blue Sage Health Consulting, Jeff Irwin of Michigan Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol.

Melissa Keck; a registered nurse working with Blue Sage Health Consulting, where patients are counseled on all aspects of managing their health and wellness with cannabis, like strain selection and safe dosing practices.

Jeff Irwin; the political director for Michigan Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol; a committee formed to support a 2018 ballot initiative to end marijuana prohibition in Michigan and establish a system in which marijuana is regulated and taxed similarly to alcohol. Past House of Representatives member and current State Senate candidate from Ann Arbor.

The West Bloomfield/Lakes Democratic Club has decided to broaden its mission for the upcoming elections. We need your help to support Democrats running for every political office on our ballot in this 2015 - 2016 election cycle. Please join us in our attempt to stem the tidal wave of money that has destroyed our schools, our cities, our small businesses, our civility and our optimism for the future.

We must consider how we can impact every school Board election, every local election, every county election, and every state election. We must protect the few Democrats who still hold elective office in our state and encourage professional people of good will and good experience to run for office. We are looking for workers and leaders to join us in this expanded mission.

    Our Monthly Meetings provide a forum for:

  • Guest speakers and discussions
  • Workshops and training
  • Providing information about issues and events from the Oakland County Democratic Party and the Michigan Democratic Party
  • Volunteer opportunities for members
  • Introducing local, state, and national Democratic candidates
  • Elected official reports to keep our members informed of West Bloomfield area, Oakland County and state issues
